Restoration of the frontispiece of the XVII century book "Insectorum Sive Minimorum Animalium Theatrum", written by Muffet & de Mayerne in 1634.
The frontispiece is originally a woodcut, one of the many (500+) included in this wonderful ancient book. It covers habits, uses, medicinal virtues, reproduction, and classification of insects and other small animals.
Printed by hand via serigraphy, on sturdy 340 g/m² 100% GOTS-certified organic cotton tote bags.
This tote is part of a limited series — once sold out, it won’t return.
Each Santa Racla tote is printed by hand on heavyweight (340 g/m²) organic cotton, GOTS-certified from seed to weave.
The design is pulled in limited runs using archival, water-based inks.
Every piece is sewn and reinforced with cross-stitched handles and doubled seams to endure years of use.
No two bags are identical — small variations in ink and texture are the mark of real craftsmanship and are not to be considered imperfections, but a characteristic of an artistic print run and therefore, of a unique specimen.
