About Us
is a small, young, independent serigraphy atelier based in Milan, Italy.
We started from a simple idea:
to elevate the humble tote bag through craftsmanship, responsible materials, and timeless imagery.
Our totes are made to last, to be used daily, and to carry both objects and beauty.
They are practical tools, but also vessels for art and personal expression.
No mass production. No shortcuts.
Just well-made objects and art.
WHY SERIGRAPHY
-
We use traditional serigraphy because of its durability, precision, and tactile quality you'll be able to feel. We guarantee that.
The ink is not just laid on, it gets integrated into the fabric, ensuring resistance to wear and details without that plastic feel and cracks that other printing techniques leave.
Inks are applied layer by layer, screens are prepared by hand, and every print requires time, attention, and control.
It also means that no two pieces are perfectly identical.
Slight variations are not flaws, but evidence of the human hand behind each object.
WHAT WE DO
-
DESIGNED AND PRINTED IN ITALY
Every Santa Racla tote is designed in Milan and hand-printed locally using traditional serigraphy techniques.
A process slow by nature, but we don't want to get rushed. -
ARTWORKS
The images we print come from ancient books, archives, and public collections.
They are carefully restored and composed, then transferred onto cotton through, turning each tote into a wearable fragment of art history. -
CERTIFIED ORGANIC COTTON
We use very dense, durable cotton canvas selected to withstand time and daily use.
All our cotton is
100% GOTS-certified organic,
meaning it is grown and processed without toxic pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, or GMOs, and produced with respect for both the workforce and the environment across the entire supply chain. -
DROPS
Our production follows a drop model.
We release small, limited collections instead of producing large quantities.
This helps us avoid overproduction, reduce waste, lower environmental impact, and preserve the uniqueness of each piece.
OUR BELIEVES
-
ART FOR ALL
Go to the Open Access Vault
We love art.
We love artists.
We hate AI-generated slop.
Most of the artworks we use come from open-access institutions that preserve the legacy of the artists by making their work freely available to the public.
We proudly support these institutions and the idea that art is humanity’s shared heritage, not a luxury commodity.
For this reason, we created the Open Access Vault:
a space where we share the artworks behind our designs, along with our references, mood boards, and sources of inspiration. -
CRAFTMANSHIP
We use traditional serigraphy because of its durability, precision, and tactile quality (no bumps where the ink is, no different texture from the cotton of the bag).
We choose craftsmanship over speed, and consistency over volume.
Our goal is not to produce more, but to produce better. This is reflected on our choice of techniques, materials, and continuous effort to improve. -
TRANSPARENCY & RESPECT
FAQ
From materials to production, we try to keep things clear and honest.
If you have questions, doubts, or need support, feel free to contact us — we will reply as soon as possible.
You may also find answers in our FAQ section. -
SUSTAINABILITY
In 2025 we used less than a bath-tub of water for all our prints!
Our drop model approach helps us stay waste-conscious, reduce environmental impact, and preserve the exclusivity of each creation.
Our cotton is 100% GOTS-certified organic, grown and processed without harmful chemicals.
We believe in products that respect the Earth as much as the people who make them.
What is GOTS - Global Organic Textile Standard
-
We source only high-quality cotton canvas, dense and durable, chosen to make tote bags meant to last.
We only use GOTS-certified organic cotton — a guarantee that the cotton is grown without toxic pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, or GMOs, and that every step of production respects both the workers and the planet through the entire supply chain.
