Our Values
Here at Santa Racla,
we believe in:
ART
We love art and we love artists. We hate AI slop "art".
Most of the images we use come from open-access museums, archives, and libraries that preserve the works of the great masters and make them available to the public. Without them, much of human art history would stay invisible to the vast majority of people.
We proudly support these institutions and the idea that art is humanity’s common heritage, not a luxury commodity.
We created the Open Access Vault exactly for this reason, to share the art we are using for our designs, our mood-boards, our inspiration, and our joy.
CRAFTMANSHIP
Each piece is designed and hand-printed in our studio in Milan, Italy, via serigraphy.
Production follows a drop model, meaning we release small, limited collections rather than overproducing.
We only use the best cotton to imprint the designs we collected and restored for you.
TRANSPARENCY & RESPECT
From materials to production, we keep things clear and conscious:
we try our best to offer you a high quality product and service.
Please feel free to contact us for any question or need, we will get back to you as soon as possible.
In case of doubts, the FAQs may also help!
SUSTAINABILITY
In the last year, we used less than a bath-tub of water for all our prints.
Our drop model approach helps us stay waste-conscious, reduce environmental impact, and preserve the exclusivity of each creation.
Our cotton is 100% GOTS-certified organic, grown and processed without harmful chemicals. We believe in products that respect the earth as much as the people who make them
What is GOTS - Global Organic Textile Standard
-
We source only high-quality cotton canvas, dense and durable, chosen to make tote bags meant to last.
We only use GOTS-certified organic cotton — a guarantee that the cotton is grown without toxic pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, or GMOs, and that every step of production respects both the workers and the planet through the entire supply chain.
-
Good Sources
Learn MoreWe commit to sourcing materials only from certified supply chains that uphold free, voluntary work, with no child labour, no forced labour, no intimidation.
-
Fair Pay
Learn MoreEnsuring fair pay: wages meet or exceed local legal standards and GOTS actively works toward what it takes to provide a living wage for all involved.
-
Safe Workplaces
Learn MoreGOTS means workplaces (and partner with those who maintain workplaces) where health, safety and hygiene are guaranteed; where complaints can be raised without fear.
-
Inclusion
Learn MoreWe embrace inclusion and fairness: no discrimination based on gender, identity, ethnicity or status; all individuals are treated with respect and have equal opportunity.
-
Unionize!
Learn MoreGOTS certified suppliers support the right to voice and organize: workers should be free to associate and have channels to raise concerns.
-
Accountability
Learn MoreGood intention HAVE to be enforced. GOTS maps its supply chain and the Santa Racla staff checks continuously that the standards are upheld.
What We Do, and How
-
Designed and Printed in Italy
Every tote is designed in Milan, Italy,
and here handprinted artisanally by using traditional screen-printing techniques, a slow and high quality process that makes each piece subtly unique. -
Artworks
The artworks featured are from ancient books and archives, restored and printed on quality cotton, transforming every bag into a wearable fragment of art history.
-
Drops
Production follows a drop model, meaning we release small, limited collections rather than overproducing.
This approach helps us stay waste-conscious, reduce environmental impact, and preserve the exclusivity of each creation.
